Axira by GEZE: The first drive system for pivot doors compliant with EN 16005

Whether in hotels, office buildings or private homes, pivot doors are becoming increasingly popular. They lend large, imposing entrance areas a sense of individuality and exclusivity. Thanks to their minimalist appearance and high functionality, pivot doors are a standout feature of exclusive buildings. GEZE’s new Axira pivot drive system enables large dimensions and the automatic opening of even the heaviest doors, setting new standards for safety and convenience.

GEZE, the specialist in innovative and modern door, window and safety technology, is the first supplier to launch a drive system for pivot doors that has been certified and tested in accordance with standard EN 16005. The Axira automated pivot drive system is the first of its kind in this product segment. This initial statement of approval ensures security in public spaces and enables use by persons with a special protected status.

A powerhouse in a sleek design

With a torque of up to 800 Newton metres, the pivot drive system impresses with its exceptional power, whilst maintaining a height of just 70 millimetres. This enables Axira to safely move doors with a leaf weight of up to 450 kilograms and can be used with door dimensions of up to 2,400 millimetres in width and 4,000 millimetres in height. Its advanced drive technology utilises a high degree of prefabrication and stands out for its low energy consumption. It has been tested with 200,000 cycles and is virtually maintenance-free.

Unlimited creative freedom

Another highlight of Axira is its concealed assembly in the lintel or in a suspended ceiling. GEZE manufactures the drive in series production, but adapts the leaf and frame components individually to the door profiles. To this end, the company works closely with profile manufacturers. Axira thus enables unlimited creative freedom thanks to a wide range of construction techniques and equipment options. Attractive for planners: It is possible to connect the drive to a building management system via BACnet or OPC UA, increasing the ease of use of the building. The standard GEZE GC 342 and GC 342+ sensors enable pivot doors to be fully secured.
